He hasn't forgotten his roots, but it's been a long time since he decided to leave the UK, and make his home here in France.

After having worked with children's adventure camps and ski operators for several years, in pretty much every role that you can imagine, Dougie decided to try his hand at being a Company Director, and set up Off Piste Madness in 2002.

He reckons it hasn't really changed him much, and that these days he cooks, cleans, clears snow, drives minibuses and skis for a living for himself, instead of just doing one of them at a time for someone else!!

When he's not skiing, he tries to relax by trying out some of the other sports that the mountains have to offer, such as white water rafting, paragliding and mountain biking, amongst others!
